Growing up playing competitive sports, I always had a clear purpose for working out. However, when I got to college, I struggled to find that same motivation and no longer had a “reason” to push myself. While I enjoyed going to the gym, I wasn’t challenging myself to the extent I knew I was capable of.
That all changed when my brother introduced me to CrossFit during my sophomore year. After trying various forms of exercise, I found myself consistently coming back to CrossFit because it made me feel strong, empowered, and more focused on what my body could achieve rather than just how it looked. This newfound appreciation for fitness inspired me to become a coach, as I’m passionate about helping others tap into their physical and mental strength.
Now, as a graduate student in clinical rehabilitation counseling, I’m excited to combine my fitness experience with my growing knowledge of mental health to make a meaningful impact on the Charleston community.
