I have always been involved in sports and athletics, but training in the gym was not very prevalent in my life until after I graduated college. I found that the gym was great for me both mentally and physically and I leaned into it. At the time, I was mainly focused on gaining strength and not much else mattered. Unfortunately, because of that, my mobility, athleticism, and cardiovascular health started to suffer.
Due to some good friends and a bit of my own curiosity, I started dabbling in CrossFit here and there through the years. I hit a bit of a quarter-life crisis after a few unnecessary injuries, and I decided it was time to start looking at my health through a wider lens. I wanted to start working on my overall health and started going to CrossFit classes regularly. What I found surprised me. Not only did I find that my views on functional fitness had changed and my health started to improve, but I found something unexpected: community.
Coaching CrossFit has become a passion of mine because it allows me to combine my love for strength training with the dynamic, multifaceted nature of CrossFit. The ability to help others bridge these areas while fostering a sense of community and accomplishment is a powerful motivator for me as a coach. It challenges me to think outside the box and continually refine my approach to training.
